New AICPA/CIMA Management Accounting Designation to Launch January 31 at International Event

On January 31, the AICPA and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) will launch a global designation for management accounting, the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). The new designation, established through a joint venture between the AICPA and CIMA, will be announced at a real-time, interactive business forum being held in both New York (starting 8 am ET) and London, connected via satellite. A transatlantic panel discussion during the forum will address research findings of C-suite executives that demonstrate, among other things, that business leaders are looking for management accountants to fill new roles and provide the strategy to drive growth. Those holding the CGMA will be recognized as trusted business strategists who can connect the dots between financial fundamentals and physical assets and a broad array of performance factors.
